Founded in 2015, the Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China at Princeton University advances the study of contemporary China and provides substantive analysis from social science perspectives of the dramatic sociological shifts taking place in China today.
Yu Xie is the Bert G. Kerstetter ’66 University Professor of Sociology and has a faculty appointment at the Princeton Institute of International and Regional Studies, Princeton University.
In an recent Q&A, the Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China Director, Yu Xie, responded to questions on the end of China's long-held one-child family planning policy. He said that
The Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China is pleased to announce that it will be co-sponsoring a PIIRS Global Seminar entitled "Contemporary Chinese Society". The course is six weeks long and will be taught in Beijing with two weekend excursions to western and southern China.
