Graduate Research Graduate students may submit funding requests for financial support for graduate research projects. Please note that the project must be primarily focused on some academic study related to aspects of contemporary China. Projects only tangentially relevant to the study of contemporary China will not be considered.Guidelines and Requirements:Proposals must be received at least 4 weeks prior to the date when funding is needed;All proposals must specify a contemporary China-related component of the event and/or project;Individual students must be in good standing with the university;The student or group requesting funding must be directly connected to Princeton University;You must submit a 1 - 2-page summary of the proposed research project/activity. Include here the contemporary China-related component and a list of all Princeton students involved;A faculty advisor recommendation must be submitted;Full project budget and include any financial support received from other sources;Include any supporting documents that would support your request;If travel is involved, the Travel Request must be approved and you must enroll your trip in Enroll My Trip.Graduate ConferencesGraduate students may submit funding requests for financial support for presentations at discipline-specific conferences, attendance or sponsorship of scholarly symposia, seminar series and workshops. The intent is to encourage events that enrich the intellectual lives of graduate students by complementing the normal offerings of departments and programs. These proceedings might involve graduate students as speakers, moderators, and/or organizers. Graduate student groups that wish to organize lectures, conferences, and other projects may also submit requests to the Center on Contemporary China.Guidelines and Requirements:1. Proposals must be received at least 4 weeks prior to the date when funding is needed;2. All proposals must specify contemporary China-related component of the event and/or project;3. Individual students must be in good standing with the university;4. The student or group requesting funding must be directly connected to Princeton University;5. 1-2 page summary of the proposed research project/activity. Include here the contemporary China-related component, the full project budget, listing of other sources of funding received or pending, description and amount of the specific component the Center is asked to fund, list of all Princeton students involved;6. A faculty advisor recommendation must be submitted;7. Include any supporting documents that would support your request.After the completion of your research project, you will be required to submit a final report to SAFE. The interim report must contain the following: 1) progress (or achievement) of the expected outcomes and any other significant accomplishments, 2) any plans or goals to be achieved by the final report. Please submit itemized actual expenses incurred after the completion of the project. If you did not end up using all of your award, or if the total amount you received from all funding sources exceeded your budget, please promptly return the balance to the China Center.
