On Friday, May 26th, Dr. Hao Dong was invited to present at Harvard's CBDB Friday Talk Series. His talk was titled "The Power of Family in East Asia: Insights from New Historical Population Registration Microdata."
Dr. Hao Dong is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China and was awarded a PhD in Social Science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2016. His research focuses on comparative family demography and social stratification in historical and contemporary East Asia, specializing in construction and analysis of large-scale population registration microdata. His articles have been published on Demography, Evolution and Human Behavior, Social Science & Medicine, and leading Chinese journals in history and sociology.
