Sam Rasmussen '19, of Salt Lake City, Utah, has yet to decide his major but is pursuing a certificate in East Asian Studies.  In high school, Sam was a selected as a National Security Language Initiative for Youth China Scholar, studying in Shanghai.  Prior to starting at Princeton, Sam took two years to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) in Taiwan, where he learned Mandarin Chinese.  Immediately prior to the start of the Global Seminar, Sam spent six weeks backpacking through Vietnam and Cambodia.  Sam will be studying abroad at Tsinghua University
