Sam Niu '19 was born and raised in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. Concentrating in American history, Sam is pursuing a certificate in East Asian Studies with a focus on Chinese history. Passionate about language learning, Sam studies Mandarin at Princeton and attended the summer language program, Princeton in Beijing, the summer before the Global Seminar. On campus, Sam is a peer language tutor for introductory and intermediate Chinese. He plans to return to China in the spring of 2018 for a semester abroad in Hangzhou.
