Ran Liu is a current Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also pursuing a Dual Master's Degree in Statistics from the Wharton School. She received her Bachelor's degree and Master of Philosophy in Sociology both from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her dissertation is a comparative study focusing on gender inequality in STEM education using cross-national survey data. She is also interested in education systems and policies, gender inequality in the labor market, complex survey methods, and gender issues in East Asian countries.
